Edinburgh is a beautiful city with so many things to see and do. We hope to go back some day to spend more time.

Open country side

With York, England in the rear-view mirror we headed toward Scotland.

We passed through many small little towns with interesting shops and eateries.

We loved the rolling hills and the fields of grain. It was hard to find a good place to stop for a picture in England. Most of the views are hidden behind tall evergreen hedges.
Did we make a wrong turn? This was one of my
"cut through" roads in England.

Whoop whoop, made it to Scotland!

The scenery in Scotland is amazing. No tall evergreen hedges to block your view from the roadways.

This is my Scottish cow friend. We met at my outdoor bathroom break!
There are not many places to stop for a potty break.

Hey when a girl has to go she has to go!! And her sneaky spouse caught it on film.

                                                                                                                                                            I love Windmills!

Aynetree Guest House

This was our lodging for several nights in Edinburgh. The owners were very Scottish and hard to understand due to their thick accent. We really enjoyed our time here. The morning breakfasts were enjoyable with the other guest there.

After a quick dinner out we went back to our room to plan out our next day in Edinburgh.

The walled city of York

After our first day of driving in another country we made it to York, England. As I said in the previous post we are staying a few overnights at a local pub. Our first full day there we decided to go into York to wonder around. Part of the City of York in enclosed by a stone wall. The city was founded in 71 AD by the Romans. Due to many power struggles, a wall was built around the city for protection. The original wall was wooden but was eventually replaced by the current block wall. You can walk around the city along the top of the wall as you will see. We also took an open top trolley tour in the rain! Enjoy the beautiful city of York.

After our trolley tour we walked around downtown and ran across some street artist.

Look who got picked to help out the street performer!
He is rockin the tutu

Dancing devil!

That is a real person on the bike, AMAZING!

Our second day in York we decided to drive to the coast. I mapped out a route to Bridlington Beach.

"shells"

Yes that is a pirate ship
It was a peaceful afternoon at the beach, pirate ship an all! We headed back to our pub room for the last night in York. Next up, heading to Edinburgh in the am.
